Improving Govt Schools
The objective of this project is to convert backward rural and urban Government schools into Model Schools so that they are on par with the best run schools. The focus is on infrastructure ,academic and activities such as sports, music, computer education. This would encourage children to attend the school regularly and thus, reduces dropouts.
This involves following interventions
- Provide Infrastructure Support such as classroom building, play ground installations, kitchen room, computer room etc.
- Empower teacher through training & exposures.
- Restrooms are making available especially to girls.
- STEM learning in place through Science Lab,Smart Classes, Library and computer lab
Impact so far
- 15,500 children across 74 Govt schools in Karnataka
- Reduction in drop out rates
- Improvement in learning outcomes
Budget per school :Â 5-10 lakhs
